Position Overview: The Widehall Events team is seeking an experienced producer to conceptualize engaging policy-focused events and book diverse national and global high-level speakers from the public, private, and advocacy sectors for a variety of events including in-person public and private events, virtual convenings, pop-up events, thought leader roundtables, forums, and summits.
The producer will collaborate with internal and external team members to conceptualize, define, and create strategic event programs and content across various topics.
This is a key role supporting the mission of Widehall to provide strategic communications and consulting services to our national and international clients and partners. These efforts are often packaged with events as part of a broader leadership platform.
Responsibilities:
- Identify event topics and generate new event concepts that are timely, innovative, and targeted.
- Research topics and create content for events including thought leader roundtables, policy forums, roundtable discussions, pop-up newsmaker interviews, and new forms of in-person and virtual convenings
- Lead targeted speaker and/or participant recruitment for events on a wide range of topics in the domestic and global policy and advocacy sphere
- Maintain a rolodex of speakers across a wide variety of sectors and areas of expertise.
- Suggest and book event speakers based on the format and goals of each event.
- Work with internal and external partners to manage timelines, communicate updates, and craft event agendas
- Create and provide briefing materials to event moderators and speakers
- Manage coordination with speaker contacts and ensure alignment with event objectives and timing.
- Represent Widehall and its partners in a professional manner while dealing with external speakers and stakeholders
- Staff events as needed including leading on-site management of speakers.
- Regularly maintain and update speaker lists in a shared database.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in broadcast journalism, television news booking, communications, and/or live event content/creative strategy and production.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving, nimbleness, multitasking, an entrepreneurial approach to work, and the display of strong organizational skills are core strengths for success in this role.
- Knowledge of current events, key players and issues in domestic and global affairs is a must.
- Presence of mind, attention to detail, and the ability to manage quick turnarounds
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to perform work in a goal-oriented manner while thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, collaborative and a team player

This position is based in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid work schedule. The salary range for this position runs from $70,000/year to $90,000/year. The final salary for this position will depend on a number of factors including experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and relevant work history.
