Position Overview:
Widehall is seeking a highly organized, and intellectually curious Editorial Assistant to support the Chairman and CEO. This is a unique opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to policy, strategy, event production, and editorial development at the highest level.
The Editorial Assistant will provide direct support to the CEO, including research, writing, scheduling, and prep for high-level events and conversations. This individual will also support a range of Widehall’s client-facing and internal initiatives—from speaker briefing memos and editorial content to public event prep and logistical follow-up. This includes supporting the development and execution of a social media strategy, writing compelling promotional content, and managing a content calendar that ensures a consistent and timely presence across platforms.
This role is ideal for someone with a mix of policy curiosity, editorial polish, and creative communications instincts.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct policy and issue research in support of the CEOs work that includes hosting events and television shows, strategic consulting, moderating public-facing events and private convenings, op-ed writing, delivering speeches.
- Draft and edit briefing memos, event prep materials, internal documents, and client-facing content.
- Provide behind-the-scenes support for events—onsite and virtual—including scheduling, briefing coordination, and note capture.
- Help prepare CEO for moderation or keynote roles at events (background research, questions, context).
- Support CEO’s social media presence—writing and scheduling posts, drafting copy for events, and managing visual content.
- Develop and execute a social media content strategy and calendar for event promotion.
- Work with marketing and audience engagement partners (as needed) to produce compelling content for digital platforms.
- Manage CEO’s calendar and coordinate key internal and external meetings.
- Support inbox and correspondence management, ensuring timely responses and follow-up.
- Maintain files, documents, and briefing archives in an organized and accessible system.
- Assist CEO and Widehall events team with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 1–2 years of experience in a policy, editorial, communications, or executive support setting (internships count).
- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; able to manage shifting priorities calmly and confidently.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and judgment—comfortable handling confidential or time-sensitive matters.
- Interest in public policy, strategic communications, or event production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace; familiarity with project management tools a plus.
- Enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced, ideas-driven environment.

This position is based in Washington, DC and offers a hybrid work schedule. The salary range for this position runs from $45,000/year to $65,000/year. The final salary for this position will depend on a number of factors including experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and relevant work history.
